WRITER & JOURNALIST

I began working for Playboy the summer of 2016. During my tenure there for the latter half of the year, I worked in the digital editorial department and was responsible for coordinating website production and writing my own articles. Prior to that, I lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and then moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the largest and oldest Latino civil rights organization in the United States. I reported and blogged on conditions affecting Latinos in the U.S., such as immigration reform and environmental issues, for the LULAC Blog.

As an undergraduate at UC Santa Barbara, I covered sports for the campus’ student-run newspaper, the Daily Nexus. The paper ranked in the top 10 in the Princeton Review’s Top 10 college newspapers twice while I was on staff. In my senior year I served as Sports Editor and began to develop a heavy online presence for the section through exclusive online content and social media promotion.

As part of UCSB’s Professional Writing Minor, I had a three month internship in 2015 with The Santa Barbara Independent, the most circulated newspaper in the county. I reported on city affairs, local businesses, and events concerning the UCSB campus.
